Tonic Blue

"Jazz washes away the dust of everyday life" -Art Blakey

For more than half of the 20th century, jazz music, born from the blues, was America's "pop" music. Multiple generations of American's of all backgrounds grew up with this music permeating every aspect of their lives. The jazz age eventually passed, almost wiping away the music completely, along with it's complex history and historical significance.

Now a new generation carries the torch of the great musicians that had started the fire long ago. Tonic Blue are just a couple of guys that really enjoy and appreciate sharing the music of a long ago age in American History.

Tonic Blue brings the hard bop era tunes of greats like Horace Silver, Cannonball Adderley, John Coltrane, Art Blakey, Dexter Gordon, and Miles Davis. They play old standards made famous by the likes of Billy Holiday, Duke Ellington, Lester Young, Ben Webster, and Louis Armstrong.

Inside or outside, quiet or loud, Tonic Blue can deliver the best of what jazz music has to offer. We all share a love for this great music, and our goal is to have fun sharing that love with you!
